1. Clients can verify the financial standing of their digital asset business operator (the Custodian) by reviewing the financial statements and performance reports published on its website. Furthermore, clients should consider other factors when making a service decision, such as service quality and complaint management procedures.
2. A digital asset business operator is not a financial institution under the Deposit Protection Agency Act. Therefore, fiat currency and digital assets held with an operator are not considered deposits and are not afforded protection under said law. In the event of any loss or damage to assets held in custody, clients may not be able to recover their assets in their entirety.
3. Clients can manage risks related to digital asset custody by depositing with the operator only the amount necessary for their intended transactions. The remaining assets can be held in their own personal digital asset wallets. Before initiating any transfer or transaction, clients should fully educate themselves on the functionality of different wallet types and the best practices for safeguarding their Private Keys and/or Passwords.
